This is a post-Valentine’s day post. Usually I am not one for that specific holiday, however I had a pretty awesome Valentine’s day this year! Normal classes in the morning.. Meh. Then on to afternoon and it got busy!
I went to a t-shirt printing company’s workshop with a class I’m not in (I skipped my sociology class to accompany them and it felt Oh So Good, totally worth it.) They’re actually a small design firm and t-shirt printing company combined, and their workshop was so cool! If you’re interested in witty/ well designed t-shirts, check out their site: Wire and Twine . Anycahoosit, the company only has 3 employees I think.. maybe four, is family run and they’re based right out of Oxford, Ohio.
Their workshop is on their farm in an awesome amazing barn! I wish I would have taken pictures to convey just how cool their work space was. The first floor of the barn is where the t-shirt business goes down and the second floor loft space is where the design work happens. I know a barn right, it doesn’t sound fancy? It is perfect, the inside of the barn is plywood but it just seems so warm! Also they have tons of windows and therefore natural light which I am in love with. I always open my shades in the morning and don’t close them till it’s dark out and slightly creepy that everyone can see into my room because my light is on. So yeah, I am totally in love with their workspace, also it’s eclectically decorated while maximizing space, they have wooden cubbies built in that have everything from organizational contents to wacky clocks and candies. So LOve Love Love Wire and Twine, plus Tom the owner who we got to talk to and work with was so nice to all of us!
While we were there we got to screen print our own t-shirts of a cool design they made that morning specifically for us, did I mention how awesome and amazingly nice these people were?! And upon entering the shop they had a bin of old tees and a kids desk full of cds, and told us to take one of each before leaving. So A+ for Wire and Twine and I am beyond happy I skipped my depressing social problems class.
So great afternoon/evening at wire and twine and then I came home and walked into my room where I found this:
ps I know I’ve been mildly obsessed with french titles lately, but I did take 4 years of french.. However I still can’t figure out how to make the accent go the other way, I know it’s not right but I figure it’s better to at least have an accent mark even if it is going the wrong way..
