2011 in review

I thought this was entertaining =) But it might not be too interesting for anyone else to read.. Happy New Year! May 2012 be even better than the year of 11’s!!

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2011 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

The concert hall at the Syndey Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 12,000 times in 2011. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 4 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

I love my lips!

Over the past 8 or so months, particularly when I was in London, I became obsessed with fun fashion. Having to do with this fantastic topic, cropping up only in the last 8 months or so as well (mainstream at least,) lip tattoos! No I am not talking about needles. Needles and I do not get along, whatsoever. What I am talking about: temporary tattoos! You know those awesome unicorn, flower, rainbow, car, heart, etc. tattoos you used to win either from vending machines or parish festivals (especially if you’re from any heavily Catholic populated area.) I first discovered these in London and wanted to try them out there, I mean really, you can get away with anything there and call it fashionable. However, given the time limit and other things on my agenda whilst I was there, I never got the chance. But while browsing the internet over this lovely Christmas Break of mine, and having been reminded by a friend at how I so could rock these, I looked into them again. There are a few more designs available, and I decided, What the heck!? It’s Christmas and I’m due for some retail therapy. So I have purchased a couple Lip Tattoos from the company “Violent Lips.”

Cinnamon Glitteratti

I’ve been doing a little bit of research on their company, and by little, I mean miniscule, but according to their website the company is owned and created by Jeff Haddad apparently “a veteran of the entertainment industry” and his two daughters Isabella and Sophia. While watching one of their tutorial videos, one of the daughters, I believe Sophia (but don’t quote me) mentioned that she is only 14 years old! Amazing, and ridiculous in my opinion. I think it’s great that she’s apparently had this brain child, but crazy. Especially when you see her recording tutorials, she looks like she’s 19 at least! So props to her, I wish I had a brilliant idea like that with the capital and support to get it started at 14! Another, it seems, industry prepared aspect of their company: all of their products are not tested on animals and in fact, considered vegan as well as made in America. It seems their company is ready to take the world by storm, so I’m wishing them good luck and I’ll let you know how I like the lip tattoo I’ve purchased once I use one! Hopefully I’ll get my shipment by New Year’s Eve- appropriate for a cinnamon glitter don’t you think?

Here’s how they look on my lips folks! I think they turned out pretty well =)

I had some fun with my makeup as well.. =)

piggy love

This little piggy went to the market, this little piggy visited all the blogs on the internet, and this little piggy came home with me!

Not really, but I wish! I really would love a little piggy for a pet sometime in the future. I surely can’t afford one now. Apparently, legitimately miniature/teacup/tiny piggies run around $4,000 dollars, and even more expensive for the especially small!  Which of course, if I were getting a little piggy, I would want an especially tiny cuddler! Enjoy this little gem =)

Who run the world? Squirrels!

Just a quick one, this girl actually has a pet squirrel! I grabbed it off of Buzzfeed the other day and the text that accompanied it:

From photographer: Amy Sly (but without chica's head cut off so much)

“Amid the crowds of protestors and media in Zuccotti Park, this little guy was just hanging out on Danielle’s shoulder. She found the a squirrel a few months ago under a tree near her house after a heavy storm. It’s legs were broken and a veterinarian told her it likely wouldn’t recover. Instead of putting the squirrel down, Danielle adopted it and nursed it back to health. Now they go everywhere together. The squirrel’s name is Hazelnut, she likes peanut butter, and her leash is made of braided hemp.”

I just think this is freaking fantastic!! I want a pet squirrel!! I’m about to go hunting around the woods every time there’s a storm.. Also now I’m quite bitter that we didn’t keep the itty bitty raccoons we found after a storm once when I was like 10. I could have had a Meeko!!

Peace, Love, Exams and December!

Final Drawing Class: Cause for celebration!

This evening I will go to my final drawing class, ever in my college career. I cannot convey to you my happiness for the ending of this lovely saga. If I only had one class in the semester, it wouldn’t be so bad to take drawing. However, along with the rest of my classes and homework, drawing is stressful purely for the amount of time required. Let alone the fact that regardless if you put in ridiculous hours, your work may or may not turn out. Plus, who just wants to draw for 3 hours straight!? Anyways, here are pictures of all of my homework this semester!

Keep Calm and Carry on, again

This semester has been the grand fiesta of work and stress and overbooking busy-ness.  Finally, the semester is drawing to a close and I feel like I might have a little time to blog some more. I probably don’t have time today, and won’t until Friday, but I have to do something that makes me happy. So if this fall has been anything similar to my own, hopefully these images help you stay calm =). I don’t have sources as they’re from the far reaches of my hardrive from a folder entitled “desktop crap” which I’m sure everything on my desktop got piled in when I got tired of having files on my desktop. But hopefully they help!

very important thing to do =)

Also nice and chill. zen, in fact

Also, if you need more I’m in love with the song “Be Ok” by Ingrid Michaelson. It’s fantastical.

A la Fresco!

Just a quick one, the other night in Drawing, we got to do something other than draw! Which is great =)

Our professor brought in the supplies, and we fresco-ed! Legitimately. We each coated our own board with 3 layers of ground lime (old school plaster) and scoring in-between, waited 20 minutes, dusted pictures via pushpins and charcoal on, and then started painting with some old school pigment too! Here is a picture of my wet fresco, I’ll add a dry one later! =)

My Roman God... Or maybe it's Greek?

I love me some poppies =)

Hey Dere Dandelion

Life has been super psycho busy of late, but I wanted to put up a post about my finished weed manifesto! (And no, not that kind of weed.)

My final poster!~ After it's been graded, I'll be hanging it somewhere on campus, and you'll get to see how cool it really is!

Ps. It's actually 5'6". And that's my classmate doing the model-model =)

The text of my manifesto:

What is a weed? What makes a daffodil a flower and a dandelion a weed? Who’s to say it is more or less attractive than any other plant in a garden? Why can’t we accept all plants for plants? Our lives are already conformed to the rules of society, why should we put our gardens through the same struggle? There is no need to kill a plant if you like it, regardless if societally it has been deemed a ‘weed.’ ‘Weeds’ can grow in the toughest of places, their goal isn’t to take over the world, it’s to make it more beautiful. Why should we stand in the way of the Earth helping the Earth? Weeds have survived this long, and they’ve proved their worth. They are tenacious, relentless, strong, resilient, and they stand up for themselves all while looking good doing it. Why should we smother such a vivacious life force? Shouldn’t we be inspired by it? Strive to be just as resilient as the plants that people call ‘weeds.’ Live and let live, let our world be beautiful. Embrace the weed.
