This is a post-Valentine’s day post. Usually I am not one for that specific holiday, however I had a pretty awesome Valentine’s day this year! Normal classes in the morning.. Meh. Then on to afternoon and it got busy!

I went to a t-shirt printing company’s workshop with a class I’m not in (I skipped my sociology class to accompany them and it felt Oh So Good, totally worth it.) They’re actually a small design firm and t-shirt printing company combined, and their workshop was so cool! If you’re interested in witty/ well designed t-shirts, check out their site: Wire and Twine . Anycahoosit, the company only has 3 employees I think.. maybe four, is family run and they’re based right out of Oxford, Ohio.

Their workshop is on their farm in an awesome amazing barn! I wish I would have taken pictures to convey just how cool their work space was. The first floor of the barn is where the t-shirt business goes down and the second floor loft space is where the design work happens. I know a barn right, it doesn’t sound fancy? It is perfect, the inside of the barn is plywood but it just seems so warm! Also they have tons of windows and therefore natural light which I am in love with. I always open my shades in the morning and don’t close them till it’s dark out and slightly creepy that everyone can see into my room because my light is on. So yeah, I am totally in love with their workspace, also it’s eclectically decorated while maximizing space, they have wooden cubbies built in that have everything from organizational contents to wacky clocks and candies. So LOve Love Love Wire and Twine, plus Tom the owner who we got to talk to and work with was so nice to all of us!

While we were there we got to screen print our own t-shirts of a cool design they made that morning specifically for us, did I mention how awesome and amazingly nice these people were?! And upon entering the shop they had a bin of old tees and a kids desk full of cds, and told us to take one of each before leaving. So A+ for Wire and Twine and I am beyond happy I skipped my depressing social problems class.

So this is the shirt we got to screen print ourselves! I chose to try out the dark green shirt cause I love green and I was a little nervous as we only had a choice of red or blue ink, and I do not do red and green unless it's Christmas. But it turned out awesomely and I was told I won the award for color choice that day =) ps the screen print says thinking in reverse and it's backwards (clever) but also, the letters were like iron old time printing press letters aka moving type and they definitely designed this with us in mind, plus it's just really cool looking! (fyi, the class I piggy-backed into is letterpress)

While we were there we learned about the screen printing process and the thing they use to make sure the ink is coming through all right before wasting a perfectly good t-shirt is a pluton (spelling?) It's basically a cottony-papery mix, something my mother would use to clean a mirror with because it wouldn't leave streaks. Anyways, I have it haning up backwards on my window shades and when the light shines through I can read it correctly. =)

The free shirt I recieved upon entering, everyone got something different, but I love this little guy! I think everyone needs to lighten up =)

This is the back of my free shirt, upper right corner

So great afternoon/evening at wire and twine and then I came home and walked into my room where I found this:

Wow. A+ to boyfriend too, I could not stop smiling! I know it's ridiculously girly and what not to post this on here, but I just had to share how amazing this was! Also I love that the flowers are not red or pink and other nasty valentine's combinations.. sorry to those of you that do like those combos. Love my flowers though, they're perfect I love daisies, I love yellow, I love purple, And it matches my room perfectly with just the right amount of contrast. Ahhh

Beautiful flowers & I think I have found a new phone backround for a while =)

ps I know I’ve been mildly obsessed with french titles lately, but I did take 4 years of french.. However I still can’t figure out how to make the accent go the other way, I know it’s not right but I figure it’s better to at least have an accent mark even if it is going the wrong way..
