Zoom: Stephen Metz

A long long time ago, I thought I might feature artists that I appreciated on my blog around once a week. Back when I had that lovely thought, I actually might have had time to do such a thing, or more likely, didn’t know how busy I was yet. Anyways I’d like to start that again, but without a set amount of ‘features’ per anything. When I find someone I find warranted to highlight, I’ll highlight them =).

So back to Stephen Metz, I was directed to his ‘phlog’ by a co-worker who is a friend of his. I’m not too familiar with him or his work, but according to a friend, and the dates on his phlog, he really started getting into photography about a year ago. I feel a certain amount of kindred spirit with him, and obviously since I’m on a photography kick, I felt the need to share. Below is one of his earlier pictures and I absolutely love it! It was taken at Union Terminal in Cincinnati and you can read more about why there is a girl practically on that gorgeous yellow ceiling on Stephen’s phlog. He also gives some good advice on getting into photography if you actually like to read blogs instead of just look at them. Enjoy & check out more of his portrait photos exploring the Queen City’s creative side on his other phlog, citizen pork.

You should definitely click on this to make it bigger. So Awesome!

I really like plants, so it would be fitting that I appreciate this portrait of Kim Taylor.

I love the British look about her, and the slight vignette used on this portrait of Fragrance Dunleavy (who if I’m not mistaken is an awesome, but fictional character).
